iHeartComix Presents: LA Gives Back 3
This Wednesday, December 19th, at Catch One nightclub, iHeartComix presents LA Gives Back 3, bringing together good cheer and good vibes for a noble cause.
With a lineup of acts from curators including Mad Decent, Brownies and Lemonade, and Ham on Everything, LA Gives Back features five different rooms worth of music, a Christmas miracle made for the dancefloor.
Part auction, part benefit, and entirely festive, this event seeks to raise funds for homeless shelters in Los Angeles. The online auction includes gifts from Seth Rogen, Justin Bieber, Poppy, and many, many others. All proceeds go towards two local charities, My Friend’s Place and Downtown Women’s Center. In the past, organizers raised $120,000 from this event, but they need help to reach their next goal of $30,000 this year.
IHEARTCOMIX’s Franki Chan says about the auction:
“We’ve realized after two successful years of LA Gives Back that the event isn’t enough. We are very proud of it, but the homeless issue affects everyone, so we wanted to set up a way that a broader portion of the Los Angeles community can participate and help give back. And so, the online auction was born. It’s a way for us to include a wider range of our contacts, fellow businesses, higher profile guests and varying music artists. We are so excited by the caliber of folks involved (so far) and hope that this auction will allow us to reach our goal of $100,000 for Downtown Women’s Center and My Friend’s Place.”
